Following the initial inspection and monitoring of the pilot implementation of the Biometric Data Collection Campaign Using the IDPoor Portal on the Digital Social Protection Platform, the leadership and technical officials from the DigitalSP Secretariat of the GS-NSPC, in collaboration with the Department of Identification of Poor Households (IDPoor) of the Ministry of Planning, continued their inspection and monitoring mission of this pilot campaign in Siem Reap Municipality, Siem Reap Province.

This biometric data collection campaign was initiated to enhance the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of social protection data management through the collection of facial and fingerprint data, as well as the updating of identification data for Equity Card holders and vulnerable households. It should be noted that the implementation of this campaign is led by the Ministry of Planning, with technical support from the DigitalSP Secretariat. This pilot is currently being implemented in Cheung Prey District, Kampong Cham Province, and Siem Reap Municipality, Siem Reap Province, before it gradually expands in phases.

On this occasion, the leadership and technical team also met with commune/sangkat officials utilizing the Digital Social Protection Platform to gather feedback and learn about their practical experiences, challenges, and recommendations. Relevant teams will review these inputs to continuously improve the system and promote the efficiency of social protection service delivery, ensuring it becomes more accessible, faster, and more effective for citizens.
